Checkers has been a staple stud used in two other breeding programs.  We were incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to bring him into our program!  He puts shape, brains and a competitive willingness on his foals. He carries two copies of the cream gene that results in an array of colors. He also has offspring that are multiple time AQHA competitors that placed in the top 15 in heeling at the AQHA World Show.  Take a look at "Ruger" on our geldings page, our first crop of babies came in 2025 and more expected in 2026!

Gater had a solid start put on him and then got started working on the ranch calving cows, branding and checking pastures.  He lightly got started on the breakaway sled before we sent him to Kerkow Barrel Horses to get started in the barrel pen and prepare for 2025 futurities. He has proved to be a versatile, soft, resilient, hard working and willing stallion.  Everything that we have asked of him he has done.  He is the type of stallion that has deserved to stay a stallion.  Gater is just getting started and we are beyond excited to see what he does next!
